ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF ENTERING EU

What is the European Union?2016.:"Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain , Sweden, the United Kingdom are all countries that have already entered the European Union so far."
What is the European Union?
"The European Union is a community of twenty-seven independent states located primarily in Europe on the basis of the European Communities and established to improve political, economic and social cooperation. Previously known as the European Communities (EC) or the European Economic Community."
How did it all begin?
In the period before the Second World War, they were not open nations for cooperation, but after the Second World War, the world faced economic and political crises. the nation became united and open to cooperation, that is, countries joined with each other in pursuit of mutual benefit. This allows them to start working together and thus, many international organizations were formed, the G8, the Western European groups and the World Trade Organization are given as an example of many of them.

These types of organizations are described as those consisting of a group of people working together with the goal of bringing peace and harmony among people. Today we have many international organizations (IOs) and the actual European Union is one of those organizations that was formed after the Second World War in 1950. Apart from Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and West Germany which are the original members, other countries joined in 1973. , 1986, 1994 and 2004. Bulgaria and Romania are the last countries to join the European Union in 2007. European Union policies are adopted and developed rationally by various commissions such as the Parliament, the Council of Ministers, etc., and these policies exist at different levels. Obviously the EU is a large organization and there is an obvious appeal for many European countries to join the EU, however, joining the EU is a very controversial topic. However, much can be said for and against it. That is why this paper will concentrate on EU membership and try to answer the following research question:
What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a member of the EU?
Many articles written about the European Union and its membership are focused on the advantages and disadvantages that the EU gives to its members. Most of those who have written about the benefits of EU membership claim that:
The European single market that allows companies to trade on the international market, and monetary union, environmental protection and war prevention as the main advantages. However, there are some drawbacks to consider. The disadvantages that are mostly mentioned are the loss of national sovereignty and the little influence that small states have. To begin with, the European single market is the first advantage of being a member of the EU. According to the official European site, EU member states have formed a single market with more than 500 million people. This enables companies to trade on the international market. Without this platform, it will be more expensive and difficult to compete individually and create products and services in EU countries. In addition, the single market contributed to reducing the number of unemployed. More than six million jobs in the last decade and European industry contributed a lot to increase the number of jobs within the European member states.
Another advantage of membership in the European Union is the monetary union. The fact is that the single currency makes trade easier, because there was a noticeable change in prices. And the single currency makes it easier not only for customers, but also for business people in their transitions because there is no need to use different currencies. In addition, they mentioned that with the introduction of the new currency (EURO), the EU member states have the same prices and this makes trade between them easier. By eliminating the national currency, EU members were forced to lower the prices of their products so that they could remain at the same level.
Another advantage of membership in the European Union is environmental protection and war prevention. In addition, the EU has created policies to prevent people from turning to terrorism.
The European single market, monetary union, environmental protection and prevention of war are the main advantages of being a member of the EU, however, there are some disadvantages as well. The first disadvantage is the loss of national sovereignty. When new member states enter the EU, they agree to comply with all regulations, even if it is against their national rules and signing or acceding to some of their national sovereignty.
Another disadvantage is that EU membership has little influence on small states. It can be understood that small states have less involvement in security matters.
From what has already been written above, it could be concluded that European Union membership has numerous advantages such as the European single market, which enables companies to trade on the international market, and monetary union, environmental protection and war prevention. On the other hand, of course, there are some disadvantages such as the loss of national sovereignty and little influence that small states have. Father....
